A heartfelt thank you...💗 There are no words to express how grateful I am for the opportunity to be a part of this 2018 IDT MA program cohort. I have learned so much and have yet so much to learn that just the thought of it inspires me to keep going. I hope that expressing my opinions regarding this program does not hinder my solid commitment to earn an MA degree as my intention was for the program to grow...improve if you will...I have worked very hard towards my goal success is at my fingertips. I will continue to work hard during the winter session in order to be up to date when I return Spring 2019. Copyright Law in Education Copyright is defined as a government-enforced monopoly that reserves the exclusive permission to engage in certain activities to the copyright holder, prohibiting the public rom engaging in these activities without proper authorization. In our weekly readings we learned about the importance of ensuring that any material we use from the internet is either with permission from the author and/or to ensure that images and any information obtained from the internet is labeled for reuse or use without restrictions. For instance, when making images online engine searches we must click on tools, then select "labeled for reuse" in order to ensure that we are not violating any copyright laws...even in the education field..."As Harvard Law professor Larry Lessig has written, modern copyright law has made criminals of us all".  He was certainly referring to TRIPS (Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights) where full

Differences Among Three Types of MOOC's cMOOC, xMOOC , and pMOOC Two decades ago, you you probably would not be able to find anything online about "MOOC's"... times have changed... The term was coined by Dave Cornier. MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Courses. You can probably guess why the need to coin such a term...yes, the massive online courses are innovative and exciting, although regretfully the course completion rate is very low. Only 2-10 percent of enrollees survive. These are their characteristics: cMOOC is learner role active, instructor role co-learner, learning theory-connectivism, primary pedagogy-knowledge integration, metaphor-"we link movies", development approach-learning design, primary type of assessment-self-assessment, and funding source-seat of the pants funding. xMOOC is learner role-passive, instructor-sage on video stage, learning theory-behaviorism, primary pedagogy-knowledge duplication, metaphor-"we watch movies"

Stacey and Todd's Dilemma from our weekly class readings... In this week's readings we learned about the myriad social media tools and their educational uses. We learned that although both, Stacey and Todd recognize the dominion caliber social media integration has education they are unsure as to how to implement it into their respective fields. They both give credence that effective integration of social medial will require careful needs assessment, instructional design, and facilitation. Both, Stacey and Todd consider the most prominent social media sites such as Facebook, Bogs, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, and Wiki. They also consider learning activities, with and without social media such as Lecture, Guest Lecture, Readings and Discussions boards (much like we, CSULA 4510 students experience in our discussions boards), Critique, and Research Projects. To conclude, Stacey and Todd both recognize that social media use has become a standard part of everyday life. They both

Why a Podcast?      Why a podcast indeed...well, as it turns out they are easy to make. Podcasts allow you to produce long-form content. Podcasts allow you to create your own show where you are your own guest! or create an interview style format. Podcasts allow you to connect with your audience. Podcasts are free to make. Of course, making a podcast needs some planning, therefore, before grabbing a microphone, take a moment to consider your audience and the content you want to share. Think about whether or not you want to divide the content into several podcasts and consider the length of time you want your podcasts to be. Once you have come up with a plan go ahead and check out this video on how to...You'll be glad you did... http://lizedit4500.blogspot.com/

Criterion-Based and Norm-Based Evaluation Methods/Tools        Due to the large amount of students that might be testing on State or national based tests such as the CBEST, the CSET, the MCAT, etc., these states are scored or measured using the norm-based evaluation as the scores are ranked. These tests take long time to create and to take. Some, up to 6 hours! The students are ranked by their test achievement. The criterion-based test, on the other hand, is usually created individually, for example, by a teacher. These tests are short in duration, typically a one class period. The criterion-based test measures the skills and knowledge a student has mastered and the scores are given in percentages. The teacher utilizes sites such as google forms, kahoot, quizlet, jeopardy/online games, and/or ed puzzle. As an educator it is in the best interest of the students and the teacher to be very comfortable with all these sites.  http://lizedit4500.blogspot.com

The importance of an ePortfolio       Anyone trying to expand or create his or her portfolio must consider sites such as weebly.com, wix.com, or even google sites as these sites offer free services to the users. I have read some of the reviews on some of these and according to my findings it appears as though wix is much more reliable than weebly when it comes to creating a website. For my Instructional Design Technology M.A program at CSULA I am being asked to create 3 different websites at 3 different sites, and based on my research findings I think it would be in my best interest to focus on wix.com and google sites. Creating a portfolio to showcase ones academic, personal, and career-oriented achievements is a phenomenal and contemporary idea. I find that it would be in everyone's best interest to invest some time in creating a personal website. The website should be clean, informative, entertaining, yet, simple and easy to navigate. Once I come up with my three websites I w
